Important Team Information:
Financials: The cost for each student athlete is $175 for the season. This price will include a t-shirt, meet swim suit, swim cap, and one other item, such as a jacket or sweatshirt.
Remind 101: We utilize Remind 101 as our main form of communication. Just download the Remind app and text @sfswimdive to 81010 to join our group.
Transportation: Coaches are prohibited from driving students unless it is in a School District Owned/Leased vehicle. It is the parents/guardians and student responsibility to gain transportation to and from practices or events. Parents/guardians must decide the best way for their children to gain transportation for these extracurricular events off-campus.
Team Support: We need major volunteer support from parents for all dual meets, double dual meets, and the FSHAA State Championships Meet. If you know of any students who are looking for volunteer hours, then home meets would be perfect opportunities for them to help out. Parent volunteers are needed for Scorers, Timers, and Starters. All volunteers must sign the Sailfish Splash Volunteer Forms to participate.
If a student can’t be at practice, they must contact a coach or team captain and give the reason for the excused absence. If a team captain is notified, the captain will pass this information to the coach. If you know you are going to miss a meet, we must know this right away, as it will directly affect the entire team.
Weather: Coaches will follow Sailfish Splash Pool and MCSD rules for inclement weather. If the Thorguard Siren sounds, we must leave the pool deck immediately. Parents/guardians/students must be able to respond quickly to ensure the safety of our team.
Discipline: All school policies are in effect during sports participation. Students must remember that they represent themselves and their school at all times on and off campus. Sportsmanship and appropriate conduct is required at all times. Team Captains will help enforce team rules and conduct to keep our team running smoothly. Students should be aware that their bags may be subject to search during school related activities.
Qualifications for Varsity Letter are based on the following criteria:
*Attendance – student is at all meets, doesn’t miss > 3 days of practice, not late for > 3 times
*Performance – scores points at home meets and/or a point in the District Meet
*Discipline – doesn’t have any infractions at the pool or school during the season
